Welcome to the 7th Pavia International Summer School for Indo-European Linguistics!

In this webpage, you will find practical information about the summer school schedule, travel and housing, as well as course materials for download.

The summer school will be held from September 7 to September 12, 2026 at the University of Pavia. It will feature five courses, one invited lecture, and a poster session, in which students will be able to present their own research.

Participation in the Summer School, including active participation in the Poster Session, stands for 3 ECTS.

• Course 1: Old Church Slavonic - Thomas Olander (University of Copenhagen)
• Course 2: Germanic - Ludwig Rübekeil (University of Zurich)
• Course 3: Sanskrit - Hans Heinrich Hock (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign)
• Course 4: Albanian - Giulio Imberciadori (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich)

• Course 5: The typology of Indo-European - Silvia Luraghi (University of Pavia)

• Invited lecture: Hittite - a language of literature and culture - Elisabeth Rieken (Marburg University)

• Presentation of the PIE Collective - Theresa Roth (Humboldt University of Berlin)

Lectures scheduled from Monday to Friday will take place in Aula Caminetto (Palazzo San Tommaso, 1st floor, Piazza del Lino 2), while those on Saturday will be held in Aula Volta (Palazzo Centrale, Corso Strada Nuova 65)
